Although borosilicate glass is very heavy, the 6″ x 62″ cases are also quite fragile. In order to make sure they arrive in perfect condition we ship them inside of a padded outer carton that is 12″ x 70″ long and has room for up to two cases. We have negotiated a special rate with FedEx to ship oversize outer cartons of clear Schott® cartons within the continental United States for only $48 per padded shipping carton regardless of weight. This allows us to ship two cases of glass within the padded outer carton for the same price as one. To save 50% on freight costs you MUST order a total even number of cases so we can pack two cases in every padded carton. You may mix rods with tubes and choose any sizes. Due to the length of these cartons they are not eligible for our free priority mail shipping promotion. You will be charged $24 per case / $48 per padded carton at checkout. Please contact us on orders of 7 cases or more for pallet-load pricing. PLEASE CALL (385-237-3365 if you need additional information on Schott® freight or products.
